I attended the Truth Project class this wednesday. That study has been one of the most relevant and important studies I have ever been involved in. It has really cemented my faith and shown me how far we have come from God’s design; as a people in general and as a nation.

My prayer is that we will see where we are standing when God’s asks us “Where are you?”, and recognize that we have turned away ; assuming that we haven’t hardened our hearts so much that we will still hear Him.

After I left the class Wednsday, I left with one of the strongest feelings I have had in all of my walk with Jesus; to get Ethan into a private Christian school where they will teach him the things that I have learned to be the Truth. I realized that even though his current public school is not a bad school at all, and his teacher this year is great , They are not allowed by law to teach, condone or reinforce the truths of Jesus Christ there.

Jennifer and I talked about it that night and have had some discussion about it in the past. We believe this is the right thing to do. Some may say that we are sheltering him, and I used to believe that myself, but the reality of this world will be evident to him soon enough. I want to equip him with all that is in my power to be ready to deal with that and to have a foundation that is firmly built on our Lord Jesus Christ. If he chooses later in his school life to go into public school to be a light there, that will be between him and God.

For about a year I have been striving at work to get a pay increase. If I am being honest with myself, my motive has really been to get a bigger nicer house in a better part of the neighborhood. How in the world can I decide that is somehow better for Ethan than his faith? Although that house might be in our future somewhere, my new goal is to get Ethan out of public school and into a place where his faith can be nurtured and strengthened. I feel sure that God will provide for that need. I put my trust in Him.

Saw the new animated “A Christmas Carol” with Jennifer and Ethan today. I had to stop watching the Texans game to make it to the movie on time. To be honest, I really didn’t want to do that, but I’m glad I did. Not only did I get to be there for what felt like a “great memory-making moment”, but the movie was really, really good.

The animation was AMAZING! No need to see it in 3D to enjoy the great cinematography. Although some of the “spirits” were more than a little creepy, it was a good family movie. What a great story that is. I think we’ll probably buy it when it comes out.

One of the moments that was particularly moving for me was a scene that started with an overview of the town with a roof-top cross in the main foreground. For some reason it really reminded me of what my Lord did for me. When that feeling comes over me, it’s really hard not to be overcome with emotion. Tonight at church I was thinking of those kinds of moments. I found myself asking how much more will it be so when I am finally before Him in heaven. Thank you Jesus. Thank you.

My Mother-in-law moved in to her new house today. It’s a great house built by Legend Homes and it turned out great. She deserves every bit of it. We had a TON of help from friends moving the big stuff. Thank God for those guys. It’s great to have so many people that care enough to help. Although they were inticed with her awesome gumbo and chili which everyone took containers of home.

I did get to drive the big U-Haul truck with my son Ethan riding shotgun. He thought it was the best thing to not only be riding in the “front” seat but in the front seat of a big truck. He had a blast.

Even though my body is tired from it all. It is absolutely great to have friends and family.

Alright. Here we go. This is my first attempt at blogging. I hope to have created a place where I can put down my thoughts and insights. Here’s to getting this stuff out of my head.

Went to “First Wednesday” service at church tonight. Pastor Rob (aka the Positive Pastor) gave the message. I wish I had his energy (and hair). I can always tell when I’m in to the message because I usually write a lot of side notes on my outline (as was the case tonight). What a privilage it is to have such a great place to worship The Lord with so many great talents!
